MY TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
I'm originally from London and moved to Somerset when I was in my late teens. Like many people, I've experienced periods of feeling vulnerable and distressed so I know how tough that can be.
My experiences drove me to seek out counselling and then much later on, to train as a counsellor.
I was trained primarily in Person-Centred counselling with other approaches, such as CBT and Solution Focused and I work in a client lead and co-operative way which can be described as non-directive. It means we work together to identify areas that are causing you problems, and look together at ways to help you to resolve them.
Before opening up in private practice I counselled in the voluntary sector for a charity in Weston-Super-Mare, seeing clients with a range of issues and concerns and before that for Cruse Bereavement Care.
I'm an accredited registrant of The National counselling Society, and I abide by their ethical standards, which includes regular supervision and continual professional development. I hold insurance for my practice.
