MY TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
I'm originally from London and moved to Somerset when I was in my late teens. Like many people, I have had episodes of feeling distressed and overwhelmed by the magnitude of my problems. It took a lot for me to accept I couldn't keep trying to battle on alone and without help.
My experiences eventually led me to seek out counselling and then later on, to train as a counsellor.
I was trained primarily in Person-Centred counselling with other approaches, such as CBT and Solution Focused and I work in a client lead and co-operative way which can be described as non-directive. It means we work together to identify areas that are causing you problems, and look together at ways to help you to understand what may be behind them and to resolve them.
Before opening up in private practice I counselled in the voluntary sector for a charity in Weston-Super-Mare, seeing clients with a range of issues and concerns and before that for Cruse Bereavement Care.
I'm an accredited registrant of The National counselling Society, and I abide by their ethical standards, which includes regular supervision and continual professional development. I hold insurance for my practice.
